The female reproductive system is like a special factory that makes new people, and it all starts inside the body.
Imagine your body has a secret room called the ovary, and in this room, there are tiny little balls called eggs. Every month, one of these eggs decides to take a journey. It leaves the ovary through a tube called the fallopian tube, kind of like taking a mini train ride.
If the egg meets up with a sperm (a tiny swimmer from a boy), they get together and make a new person inside another room called the uterus. This is where the baby will grow until it's ready to come out into the world, kind of like moving into a cozy house.
Sometimes, when the egg doesn’t meet up with sperm, it travels down another path to a place called the vagina, and then leaves the body, this is like saying goodbye for now.
So the female reproductive system works by making eggs, sending them on a trip, and preparing a special home where a baby can grow, all part of the amazing process of becoming a parent!
Examples
- The egg travels from the ovary to the uterus, where it might be fertilized.
- If no sperm reaches the egg, the lining of the uterus is shed as menstrual blood.
