Parliament 101 is like a big group of people who help make rules for everyone to follow.
Imagine you're in a classroom, and there are rules about sharing toys, raising your hand before speaking, and cleaning up after snack time. Now imagine that whole class is grown-ups who make rules for the whole country, that’s Parliament!
How It Works
In Parliament, people are like players on a team. There are two main teams: the House of Commons, which is like the group of students in your classroom, and the House of Lords, which is like the teachers who help make sure things run smoothly.
When they want to make new rules, they talk about it, just like you and your friends decide on a new game rule. Sometimes they agree quickly, sometimes they need more talking or even a vote, like when you all raise your hands to choose between two games.
If everyone agrees, the new rule becomes part of the country’s laws, just like how your teacher writes the new rule on the board so everyone knows it!
