How Does Nd: YAG Laser Work?

The Nd: YAG laser is like a super-powered flashlight that can do amazing things because it uses energy from inside a special kind of crystal.

Nd: YAG stands for Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet, which sounds fancy, but think of it as a smart crystal that loves to store and release energy. When you shine light on this crystal or give it a little nudge with electricity, it gets excited and starts glowing, not like a regular light bulb, though, but in a very precise way.

How It Sends Out the Light

Once the crystal is all worked up, it sends out laser beams, which are like super-focused flashlight rays. These beams can cut through things, make tiny holes, or even help doctors see inside your body!

Why It's So Powerful

The special crystal gives the laser its power, and the way it works makes sure the light is very strong and all in one line, just like when you look straight down a hallway, everything lines up perfectly.

It’s not magic, just smart energy working together!
