Naked mole rats learn to speak the same language as their queen so they can work together like a family.
Imagine you’re in a big classroom, and your teacher is the smartest person there. If you want to be part of her group, you’d probably try to talk like she does, maybe copy how she says words or uses special phrases. That’s kind of what naked mole rats do!
How They Learn
When baby mole rats are born, they grow up with their queen. She talks to them in a way only they understand. It's like having a secret code! As the babies get older, they start to copy how she speaks. Soon, everyone in the colony can understand each other, it’s like they all speak the same language.
Why It Matters
If you don’t speak the queen’s language, she might not trust you or let you join her group. But if you do, you become part of the family and help take care of the whole colony together, just like in a big classroom where everyone works as a team!
