How Metabolism Works
Imagine your body is a big kitchen. Every time you eat, it’s like adding new ingredients to the counter. Your body then cooks these ingredients into something called energy. This cooking process is what we call metabolism, it's all the tiny jobs your body does to turn food into power.
How ATP Works
Now imagine those little batteries I mentioned earlier, ATP. When you need energy, like when you're playing or running, your body uses these batteries. Each time you use one, it becomes a used battery called ADP, and your body quickly changes it back to ATP so you can keep going.
It’s like having a never-ending supply of little batteries that help you stay active all day long!
Examples
- When you eat a sandwich, your body breaks it down into smaller pieces for energy.
- Your muscles use ATP like tiny batteries to keep moving.
