Lions and tigers are both big, strong cats, but they have some cool differences that make them special in their own ways.
Lions live in groups called prides, like a team of friends working together. They love to nap in the sun and usually hunt during the day, just like how you might play outside with your friends and take turns chasing a ball.
Tigers, on the other hand, are more like solo heroes. They live alone or with their families and mostly hunt at night, when it's dark and quiet, kind of like sneaking up on someone while they're asleep.
How They Look Differently
Lions have shaggy manes around their heads, like a fluffy collar, especially the males. Tigers don’t have manes, but they have stripes, which help them hide in the forest, just like how your shadow helps you sneak up on someone.
Who Wins in a Fight?
If a lion and a tiger fought, it would be like two strong kids having a tug-of-war. Sometimes one wins, sometimes the other, it all depends on who is bigger or faster that day!
Examples
- Lions are social animals that hunt together, whereas tigers are solitary hunters.
