Before the internet, people didn’t have instant answers, they had to work for them.
Imagine you're trying to find out what a dinosaur looks like. Today, you just say “Hey Siri, show me a T-Rex!” and poof, there it is on your tablet. But before the internet, you had to go to the library, which was kind of like a big room full of books, each one was a whole story or fact about something.
Working meant doing things by hand, like writing letters with a pencil and paper instead of sending messages through a phone. People also used telephones to talk to someone far away, but you had to pick up the receiver, wait for the person on the other end to answer, and talk to them instead of just typing or texting.
Sometimes, people even had to go all the way to another town or city to get information, like going to a store or visiting someone who knew the answers. It was kind of like playing a game where you had to earn your clues, one step at a time! Before the internet, people didn’t have instant answers, they had to work for them.
