How Does Layers of a Forest Work?

A forest is like a big, layered cake, each layer has its own job and helps keep the whole forest happy.

At the very top of the forest, there are tall trees with thick leaves. This layer is called the canopy, and it’s like a roof for the forest. These big leaves catch the sun, making food for the tree, just like how you use sunlight to grow plants in your garden.

At the bottom of the forest, you have little plants, mushrooms, and fallen leaves. This is called the forest floor, and it’s like the base of our cake. It helps keep the soil healthy and gives homes to tiny creatures like insects and worms.
