Imagine you're painting on water, that’s what marbling and graining feel like!
You start by dipping your fingers (or a special tool) into colorful paint floating on top of water. When you lift your finger, the paint sticks to it, making pretty swirls and patterns. That's marbling, it looks like ripples in a pond after a stone is thrown in.
Now for graining. Think about when you press your hand onto wet cement, it leaves an imprint. In graining, we use special tools called grainers to make lines and textures that look like wood or stone, just like those cool patterns you see on some tables or floors at home!
Making the Magic Happen
- You mix paint with water so it floats on top.
- You dip a tool in and drag it through the paint, making cool shapes.
- When you lift the tool, the paint stays on it, just like when you dip your finger in juice and lift it up!
- Then, you press that painted tool onto paper or fabric, and poof, you have beautiful patterns!
It’s like drawing with liquid, fun, easy, and full of color! Imagine you're painting on water, that’s what marbling and graining feel like!
