How Does History of the Commonwealth Work?

The Commonwealth is like a big club where countries hang out and help each other, even if they’re not all best friends.

Imagine you have a favorite toy that you share with your friends during playtime. Sometimes, you all play together, and sometimes you do your own thing, but you still know you're part of the same group. That’s kind of how the Commonwealth works, it's a group of countries that used to be connected to Britain, but now they’re all on their own adventures.

How It Started

A long time ago, some countries were ruled by Britain. When they became independent, they decided to stay in touch and keep helping each other, just like friends who still play together even after growing up.

What It Does Now

Today, the Commonwealth helps these countries talk to each other, share ideas, and sometimes even help each other with problems, like when one country needs help with school or jobs, another might step in to help out. It’s a friendly way of working together, just like sharing your toys with friends!
