How Does Having multiple Switches is Dumb. Work?

Having multiple switches is dumb because it makes turning things on and off harder than it needs to be.

Imagine you have a toy car that you want to make go faster. You press one button, voilà, it zooms! Now imagine instead of just one button, there are five buttons: red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. Each button does the same thing, they all make your toy car go faster. But now you have to choose which one to press every time.

That’s like having multiple switches for the same job. Instead of just one switch that turns on the light, there are five switches, each in a different place, and they all do the same thing. Now you have to decide which switch to flip every time you want the light on or off. That’s confusing!

• More choices mean more work, just like having five buttons for one toy.
• It’s easier with fewer switches, if you only need one, why use five?
• Switches should be smart, not silly, they should make things simpler, not harder.
