Groupthink is when everyone in a group agrees too quickly and doesn’t question what they’re doing, like when you all pick the same ice cream flavor without thinking about it.
Imagine you're playing a game with your friends, and you have to choose a team name. Everyone just says "Team A" without even discussing other cool names like "Space Explorers" or "Dragon Riders." That’s groupthink, everyone goes along with the first idea instead of sharing their own thoughts.
Why does it happen?
Sometimes, people are afraid of being laughed at if they say something different. It's like when you want to say "blue" for your favorite color, but all your friends say "red," and you're worried they'll think you’re weird if you pick a different one.
What happens because of groupthink?
When everyone thinks the same way, good ideas can get left out. Maybe there was a super cool team name no one thought of, just because no one wanted to stand out!
So next time you're in a group, try saying your own idea, it might lead to something amazing!
