How Does Fish Migration: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know (and More) Work?

Fish migration is when fish travel from one place to another, just like you go from school to home.

Why Do Fish Move?

Imagine your favorite toy is in a different room, you’d probably walk over to get it. Fish do something similar. They move because they need food, or they want to lay eggs, or they’re looking for a better place to live. Sometimes they go far away, like from the ocean to a river.

How Do Fish Know Where to Go?

Think of fish as tiny explorers with special maps inside them. These maps help them know when it’s time to move and where to go. Some follow rivers, just like you might follow a path in the park. Others use stars or even sounds from the water, kind of like how you listen for your mom calling you from another room.

What Happens When They Arrive?

When they get to their new place, they find food and maybe meet other fish who are also on a journey. Some come back every year, it’s like going on a fun trip with friends and coming home to see everyone again!
