How Fingerprint Works
When you use fingerprint, it's like giving your finger a hug to the phone. The phone has a tiny sensor that feels every little bump and ridge on your finger, like how you know your friend’s hand by touch. When you put your finger on the sensor, it takes a map of your fingerprint and checks if it matches the one it already knows. If it does, voilà, your phone unlocks!
How Face ID Works
Face ID is like having a special camera that draws a picture of your face. When you set it up, the phone takes lots of pictures from different angles to create a 3D map of your face, kind of like how a robot might learn what you look like by seeing you in many lights and positions. Then, when you look at your phone, it checks if your face matches that special map.
Both are like having a secret handshake with your phone, one uses your finger, the other uses your face! Face ID and fingerprint are both ways to unlock your phone, just like having a special key or knowing a secret password.
Examples
- A kid uses Face ID to unlock their mom's phone, while another uses a fingerprint scanner on their dad's phone.
- Your face is like a key, and your fingerprint is like another key for your phone.
