The Earth is full of environments and ecosystems, which are like different kinds of neighborhoods for plants, animals, and even us!
Imagine your house has a kitchen, a bedroom, and a playground, each one feels different. The Earth has many of these special places too. Some are wet, like a pond or the ocean; some are dry, like a desert or a sandy beach.
Types of Environments
- Forests are like big green cities with tall trees and lots of animals living in them.
- Deserts are hot and dry, think about how it feels when you're outside on a really sunny day without any shade!
- Oceans are deep and blue, full of fish that swim around like kids playing in the pool.
Ecosystems Work Together
An ecosystem is like a team. In a forest ecosystem, trees give oxygen to animals who breathe it in. Animals eat plants or other animals, and when they die, they help make new soil for more plants to grow, just like how your food helps you grow!
Every environment has its own special team of living things working together to keep everything happy and healthy!
Examples
- Deserts are very hot during the day but cold at night, making it hard for some creatures to live there.
