How Does Day and Night Explained in One Minute Work?

Imagine Earth is like a toy that spins around while it goes on a walk around the Sun.

Day and night happen because Earth keeps turning, just like how you spin around when you play twister. One side of Earth faces the Sun, and that’s daytime. The other side turns away from the Sun, and that’s nighttime.

Think about being in a room with a lightbulb. When you're facing the bulb, it's bright, that's like day. When you turn your back to the bulb, it gets dark, that's like night. Earth is doing this big spin all day long, so different parts of it get to play with the Sun at different times.

Earth turns slowly, once every 24 hours. That’s why we don’t feel it spinning, but we do see the Sun come up and go down, like a clock ticking in the sky.
