How Does Convex and Concave | How to Remember Easily Work?

A convex shape curves outward, like the outside of a bowl, while a concave shape curves inward, like the inside of a bowl.

Imagine you have two bowls: one is a regular bowl that holds your cereal, and the other is like a spoon, it's curved on the inside. The convex bowl is like the top of the spoon, it curves out. If you put a ball on it, the ball rolls away from the center.

The concave part is like the inside of the spoon, it curves in. If you put a ball in there, the ball rolls toward the center.

Your face has both kinds of shapes too! When you smile, your cheeks go convex, they puff out. But when you frown, your forehead goes concave, it folds in like a valley.
