Artificial intelligence learns by practicing and getting better, just like you when you learn to ride a bike.
Imagine your friend is trying to guess which toy you're thinking of. At first, they might guess wrong, maybe they say "dinosaur" but you were thinking of "teddy bear." But every time they guess wrong, they remember that mistake and try again. After a while, they start guessing right more often because they've learned from their mistakes.
That’s kind of how artificial intelligence works. It tries to solve problems or answer questions, and if it gets the answer wrong, it remembers the mistake. Then it practices more, learning from each try until it becomes really good at what it does, just like your friend who finally learns which toy you're thinking of!
How AI Practices
Think of artificial intelligence as a student in school. Every time they get a question wrong, their teacher helps them understand where they went wrong. Over time, the student gets better because they’re learning from each mistake, just like how AI improves by practicing and remembering its errors!
Examples
- A child learns to recognize animals by seeing many pictures of them.
- An AI learns to play chess by playing thousands of games and figuring out the best moves.
- A robot learns to walk by trying different ways to move and adjusting its steps.
