The Party Guests
At this big animal party, there are nine different groups called phyla. Think of them like your favorite characters from a cartoon, each one has their own cool traits.
- One group might be like snakes and worms, sliding around on the floor.
- Another could be like spiders and insects, crawling with many legs.
- Some are like fish and whales, swimming in water, just like you splash around in the bathtub!
The Special Traits
Each phyla has its own special way of doing things. For example:
- One group might use hard shells to protect themselves, like a crab or a turtle!
- Another might have backbones, like you and me, that's what makes us vertebrates.
- Some might be tiny, like bacteria, living in your body without you even knowing!
It’s like each group has their own superpower for moving, eating, and growing. And by learning about these groups, we can understand how all animals are connected, just like friends at a party!
Examples
- A snail carries its shell wherever it goes.
