How does alcohol make you drunk? - Judy Grisel?

Alcohol makes you feel drunk by changing how your brain works, like when you add too many toys to a pile and can’t focus on just one.

When you drink something with alcohol in it, like juice or soda mixed with alcohol, the alcohol goes into your body through your stomach. It then travels to your brain through your blood, like a secret message being sent from one room of your house to another.

How Alcohol Changes Your Brain

Your brain uses special messengers called neurotransmitters to help you think clearly and stay calm. Alcohol acts like a disruptor, making those messengers work slower or differently. It’s like when you try to play with your toys, but someone keeps taking them away, you can’t focus as well.

This disruption makes it easier for you to laugh more, talk louder, and maybe even trip over your own feet, all signs that you’re getting drunk! The more alcohol you drink, the stronger this effect becomes. It’s like adding more toys to a pile, eventually, you can’t tell what’s going on anymore.
