Glaciers move like slow, sleepy giants. Imagine a giant block of ice that’s so heavy it starts to slide, and as it moves, it carries everything in its path with it. Over many years, the glacier slowly pushes rocks and soil along, making big changes to the land beneath it. Sometimes glaciers even melt and flow like rivers when they get warm.
Examples
- Imagine walking through a snow tunnel, the ground beneath you is moving slightly as the ice flows around it.
- A glacier can push boulders hundreds of miles, just like a slow-moving train.
