How Does a Clockwork Orange Work?

A clockwork orange is like a toy that moves all by itself because it has tiny gears inside working together.

Imagine you have an orange, and inside it are lots of little wheels, we call them gears, that turn when you push the orange. These gears are connected in a special way so that when one turns, they all move together, making the whole orange roll or spin around.

Inside the clockwork orange, there's a small spring that winds up when you twist it, just like winding up a toy car. When you let go, the spring unwinds and makes the gears turn. The more you wind it up, the longer it keeps moving!

The name “clockwork” comes from clocks, which also use tiny gears to keep time. Just like a clock has hands that move around the face, a clockwork orange uses its gears to make it move in a smooth, steady way, like a little machine that's always dancing inside!
