How Does a Black Hole Actually Eat a Star?

Imagine a black hole like an extremely strong vacuum cleaner and a star like a big, bright balloon. When the star gets too close to the black hole, it feels such a strong pull that it starts stretching, kind of like taffy being pulled apart. This process is called spaghettification, because the star gets long and thin like spaghetti. Eventually, the star gets eaten by the black hole completely.
