A 5 line story is like making up a short little adventure with just five sentences, simple and fun!
Imagine you're playing with your favorite toys. You start by telling who or what the main character is, like “Lily has a red ball.” Then you say what happens next, like “She kicks it to the park.” Next, you tell what happens after that, like “A dog chases the ball.” Then you add something new, like “The dog brings it back to Lily.” Finally, you end with a happy or exciting finish, like “Lily laughs and plays again.”
How It Works
Each line is like a step in a game.
- The first line starts the story, who is there?
- The second line shows what happens next.
- The third line adds a new twist or character.
- The fourth line tells how that twist changes things.
- The fifth line ends with a happy or exciting result.
It’s like drawing a little picture with words, each sentence is one color in your artwork!
Examples
- A boy sees a flying cat and runs after it.
- He jumps over a fence, but trips on a stick.
- The cat lands on the roof of his house.
