Robots use special tools called sensors to know when they should stop moving. Imagine you're playing a game of tag, when you see the person chasing you, you might run faster or hide. Robots do something similar: they look at their surroundings and decide whether to keep going or stop.
Examples
- A toy robot stops when it touches a wall because it feels it.
- A vacuum cleaner knows when to stop if it runs out of battery power.
- A robot dog stops chasing its owner when it sees the owner is no longer moving.
