How do I prevent paintings from cracking?! ⚡️?

Imagine a painting is like a balloon, when it’s full of air, it’s nice and round. But if you pop the balloon too fast or squeeze it too hard without letting it stretch, it’ll tear! That's what happens to paintings if they get hot or cold suddenly.

When a painting is on a canvas, and the canvas gets wet or dry quickly, it can shrink or expand. This makes the paint feel like it’s being pulled apart, just like when you stretch a rubber band too far, and snap! It breaks.

To stop this from happening:

• Let paintings dry slowly, like how your skin dries after swimming.
• Don’t put them in the fridge or oven, that’s like putting the balloon in a microwave!
• Use a special frame with padding, so the painting can stretch and breathe comfortably.
