Glaciers move like slow rivers of ice. When snow falls and stays for a long time, it turns into ice. This ice starts to push and slide over the land, just like how your feet might slide on a slippery floor when you walk. As glaciers move, they carry rocks and dirt with them, changing the landscape as they go.
Examples
- A glacier moves like a slow giant sliding down a hill.
