How do companies predict and influence emerging fashion trends?

Companies are like detective chefs who watch what people like and try to guess what will be popular next.

They look at what everyone is wearing, maybe kids are all showing off their favorite pink sneakers, or everyone’s mom is wearing the same fluffy scarf. Companies notice this and think, “Oh! This might be the next big thing!” So they start making more of those items to sell.

Sometimes, companies don’t just watch, they also try to make things popular on purpose. It's like when you want your friend to like your new toy, so you show it off a lot at school. Companies do this by starting trends, maybe they put a really cool outfit on a famous person or let people see what will be available soon.

They might also use something called social media, which is like a big playground where everyone shares their favorite things with others. If someone posts, “I love my new sparkly headband!” lots of other kids might want one too.

By watching and playing along, companies can predict what will be popular, and help make it happen!
