How Did Tokyo Become The Largest City On Earth?

Tokyo is now the biggest city on Earth because many people chose to live there and keep building new homes and roads for more people.

Imagine your toy box, when you add more toys, it gets fuller. Tokyo is like that toy box but with people, houses, streets, and even skyscrapers!

Like a Growing Toy Box

At first, Tokyo was just a small town with not many people. But as time passed, more and more families wanted to live there because it had good jobs, fun places to play, and nice schools.

Every year, like you getting a new toy each birthday, Tokyo added new neighborhoods and taller buildings so everyone could have a place to live.

More People, More Space

To make room for all those people, the city builders used special tricks. They made roads go up and down like stairs, built houses on top of each other, and even created whole new areas above ground, like having another toy box stacked right on top!

Now, Tokyo has over 30 million people, making it the largest city in the world, just like your toy box full to the brim!
