How Did the ‘Renaissance’ Change Art and Thought?

The Renaissance was like a big new idea that made art and thinking much more creative and fun.

Imagine you're drawing on paper with crayons. Before the Renaissance, people mostly drew simple shapes, like circles for heads and lines for clothes. But during the Renaissance, artists started using clever tricks to make their drawings look real, almost like they were moving! They used something called perspective, which is like when you look at a road that goes off into the distance, it gets smaller as it goes away. Artists learned how to draw things so they looked 3D on flat paper.

Also, people started thinking more deeply about who they were and what they wanted. It was like going from playing with blocks to writing stories about those blocks!

Artists used shadows, light, and colors in new ways, it was like giving their pictures a “second life”! Think of how you use your flashlight at night, that’s kind of like what they did, but on paper.
