How Did the Inca Empire Fall?

The Inca Empire fell because some powerful people decided to fight each other instead of working together.

The Great Team Breakup

Imagine you and your friends are building the biggest sandcastle ever, and everyone has a job: one person brings water, another shapes the towers, someone else adds shells, it's like a super cool team project. Then suddenly, two of your best friends start arguing about who gets to be the leader. They split the group into two teams and fight each other instead of helping build the sandcastle. That’s what happened with the Incas: two brothers, called Atahualpa and Huáscar, started fighting over who would rule the empire.

The Final Push

Just when things were getting messy, another big problem showed up, a group of people from far away (called the Spanish) came to visit. They brought horses, steel swords, and a sickness that made many Incas very weak. It was like your sandcastle got hit by a wave while everyone was still arguing.

In the end, the Inca Empire couldn’t stay strong because it had too many problems all at once, it’s like trying to finish a big project when half your team is fighting and you also have a storm coming!
