Like Stacking Blocks
Imagine you're building a tower with blocks, the bigger the tower, the harder it is to keep it straight. The Maya did something similar, but on a much larger scale! They started with a big base and added layers one by one, just like stacking up blocks. Each layer was slightly smaller than the one before, so the pyramid got narrower as it went up, kind of like how your toy blocks get smaller when you build a tower.
Working Together
The Maya didn’t do this alone! They had lots of people helping them carry stones and shape them. Some workers dug the ground to make room for the base, while others used simple tools like hammers and chisels to carve rocks into perfect shapes. It was like having a giant team of builders working together, just like when you and your friends build something cool in the sandbox.
A Big Job, But Not Magic
Building a pyramid took time, sometimes hundreds of years! But it wasn’t magic; it was hard work, smart planning, and teamwork. And that’s how they made those amazing pyramids stand tall for thousands of years.
