How Did Ancient Egypt Influence Modern Architecture?

Ancient Egypt gave us some cool ideas that help make buildings today look strong and special.

Ancient Egypt is like a super long story about people who lived thousands of years ago, they built pyramids, which are like giant triangles with flat tops, and temples, which are big buildings where people would go to worship gods. These structures were made using stones that were cut and stacked carefully.

Modern architecture uses some of the same ideas! Think about building a tower out of blocks, you stack them one on top of the other, just like how Egyptians built their pyramids. Today’s buildings sometimes have shapes that remind us of pyramids, especially when they are very tall and pointy at the top.

Many modern buildings use concrete or brick, which are a lot like the stone that the Egyptians used. When you build with bricks, it’s kind of like using small stones to make something big and strong, just like the pyramids!
