Refreezing meat that has been thawed can be okay, but it depends on how you do it.
Imagine your favorite snack, like a chocolate bar. If you leave it out on the counter, it starts to melt. Then, if you put it back in the fridge or freezer, it might not be as tasty anymore, maybe it gets a little soft or squishy. That's kind of what happens with meat when you refreeze it.
Thawing is like letting the meat “wake up” from its cold sleep. If you thaw it slowly and keep it cool, it stays fresh. But if it sits out too long or gets warm, some germs might start to grow, just like how your snack gets messy when it melts.
If you refreeze it quickly after it’s only been slightly thawed, it can still be good, a little like freezing a partly melted chocolate bar again before it becomes a gooey mess. But if the meat was left out too long or got warm, refreezing might not save it from being a bit less tasty.
So, refreeze is like giving the meat another chance to stay fresh, but only if you do it right!
