How Bacon is Made?

Bacon is made by turning pork into crispy, smoky slices that taste amazing on toast or in a breakfast sandwich.

The Journey from Pig to Pancake

Pork starts as a cut of meat, usually the belly or side of a pig. This cut has lots of fat and meat together, kind of like a layered cake.

Next, the pork gets cured. Curing is when you soak the meat in salt and sometimes other spices to change its flavor and help it keep longer. It's like giving the pork a long, salty bath.

After curing, the pork is smoked. Smoking means putting it near fire or special smoke for a while so it gets that delicious smoky taste. You can think of it like baking cookies in an oven with a campfire smell, the meat absorbs all that flavor!

Finally, the cured and smoked meat is sliced into thin strips, which we call bacon. These slices are then cooked (usually fried or baked), turning them crispy and golden, just like when you make toast!
