The Big Group of Land
Imagine you have a big box full of toys, cars, dolls, balls, and blocks. All these are different, but they belong together because they're in the same box. Asia is like that toy box, it has many countries with different people, languages, and traditions, but they all live on one big piece of land.
A Name That Grew
A long time ago, a Greek sailor named Herodotus thought about how to name this huge land. He said, "This place is so big, it's like the beginning of everything!" So he called it Asia, from a word that means “the beginning” or “the east.” That’s why we still use the name Asia today, because it came from a special idea about where this huge land starts.
