How an eclipse affects weather?

An eclipse is when the Sun, Moon, and Earth line up just right, making it seem like part of the Sun disappears.

Like a big shade

Imagine you're outside on a sunny day playing with your favorite toy. Suddenly, someone holds a big piece of cardboard between you and the Sun, it gets cooler and darker, just like during an eclipse. The Moon acts like that big piece of cardboard, blocking some of the Sun's light from reaching us.

The weather takes notice

When the Sun’s light is blocked, the temperature goes down a bit, kind of like when you go from being in the sun to being in the shade. The wind might change too, because the air gets cooler and starts moving differently. It’s like when your room feels cooler after you close the curtains.

If it's a total eclipse, it can even get dark enough for stars to appear, just like night time! So, during an eclipse, the weather changes a little bit, making the day feel more like evening or night.
