We use bold words and special sounds to make certain parts of what we say or write stand out, like when you want to shout a secret in a whisper.
When you're telling a story, sometimes you want your friend to know something is really important. You might say: "I saw a giant cookie!" The bold part shows that "giant cookie" is super exciting and needs attention.
You can also use special sounds, like going up or down in pitch when you talk, it's like singing a little song while speaking. If you say, "I found a cookie," with a soft voice, it might sound like a secret. But if you say, "I found a giant cookie!" with a loud and happy voice, it sounds like a party!
Sometimes we use both, bold words and special sounds, to make things even more exciting.
You can think of it like this: when you're playing with building blocks, you might shout "Look at this tower!" and jump around while saying it. That’s how we emphasize in English!
