Can you really reach anyone in 6 steps?

You can connect to almost anyone through just six friends, it’s like a game of telephone, but with people!

Imagine you're playing a game where each person tells the next person something they heard. If you start with one friend, and that friend talks to another, and so on, by the sixth step, your message can reach someone all the way across the world.

How it works

Think of your best friend, that’s step 1. That friend knows a few other people, maybe two or three, those are steps 2 and 3. Each of them probably knows more friends, so by step 4, you're talking to a whole group of kids who might be in the same class or neighborhood.

By step 5, your message is going through a bunch of different groups, like classrooms, families, or even clubs. And by step 6, poof!, it can reach someone completely new, maybe from another city or country!

It’s not magic, just people talking to other people, one after another, until the message gets where it needs to go. You can connect to almost anyone through just six friends, it’s like a game of telephone, but with people!
