Earth’s life forms could travel to other planets, just like a seed from a tree can grow into another tree on a different hill.
Imagine you’re playing with your favorite toy, maybe a ball or a teddy bear. Now imagine that toy could ride on a rocket and go all the way to another planet, like Venus, where it might start growing into something new!
How life could travel
Sometimes, tiny bits of Earth, like microbes (very small living things), can get caught in space rocks or dust. These rocks then travel through space for a long time, maybe even millions of years.
If one of these tiny travelers lands on another planet, like Venus, it might start growing and multiplying if the conditions are right, just like how a seed starts growing into a plant when you water it and put it in soil.
Venus is very different
But Venus is not like Earth. It's super hot, hotter than a summer day in a desert! And it has thick clouds that make it hard to see the surface. So even if life from Earth landed there, it would need to be tough enough to survive such extreme conditions.
Still, scientists think it’s possible! Just like how some seeds can grow in very strange places, maybe one day we’ll find life from Earth growing on Venus too!
Examples
- A spaceship brings plants from Earth to Venus, where they grow into forests.
- A scientist sends a capsule with seeds to Venus, hoping they will sprout.
