Artemis: How are we Returning to the Moon?

Artemis is like a space bus that helps us go back to the Moon, just like we ride the school bus to get to school every day.

How it Works

Imagine you have a special car called the Space Launch System (SLS). This car is super strong and can carry a spaceship all the way to the Moon. The spaceship has a part called the Orion capsule, which is like a cozy seat for astronauts during their trip.

When the SLS takes off, it's like when your bus zooms out of the school parking lot. It goes really fast and carries everyone up into space. Once there, the Orion capsule helps the astronauts float through space until they reach the Moon, just like how you float in a pool when you jump in!

The Return Trip

When the astronauts are ready to come back, they use the Orion capsule again. It's like getting on the bus for the ride home. The spaceship goes back to Earth, and the astronauts land safely, just like when your bus drops you off at school every day!
