Are sperm whales evolving two different dialects?

Sperm whales are learning to talk in two different ways, just like how you and your friend might speak differently when you're playing together.

Imagine you and your best friend both love to play with blocks. But one of you likes to stack them high, while the other loves to make little houses. Even though you’re both using blocks, your ways of playing are different, just like how some sperm whales are learning new dialects, or ways of speaking.

Some sperm whales in certain parts of the ocean have started making sounds that are slightly different from others. These sounds are like their special way of talking to each other, kind of like how you might use special words when you're playing a game with your friends.

Now imagine some whales start learning this new way of talking, and others keep using the old one. It's like having two groups in a class, one that speaks English, and another that speaks Spanish. They’re still sperm whales, but they’re starting to sound different from each other, just like how you might sound different when you're playing with your friends instead of your cousins.
